The opponent of a Paigow poker player is the dealer and not other players paying at the same table. The ranks and hands in Paigow poker rules are the same as regular poker. Bets at Paigow poker are simply done by placing chips in front of you. It is up to the player how many chips he or she would like to wager. There are even times where you could place your bet on another player if you feel that he or she will win. After all bets are placed the dealer will then deal 7 cards. You will have to split the seven cards into two hands. One hand will have two cards and the other hand will be made up of 5 cards. It is important to remember that the 5 card hand should be higher in terms of rankings than the two hand card in Paigow poker rules. For example you have been dealt cards that have a pair of 6's and 8's. The pair of 6's should be the cards in the two card hand, while the pair of 8's should be in the 5 card hand. In Paigow poker rules if you mistake arrangements by making the higher pair as your two card hand you automatically lose the game. After arranging your cards, the dealer will then open his cards. The dealer will also arrange them the same way you did. Then the dealer will compare his cards with each player at the table. Players will only win if you are able to beat both the dealer's two card and five card hand. It is only considered a push when you are only able to beat one of the dealer's hands. No money is exchanged when a push happens. A tie happens when the dealer's hands ranks the same as yours. Dealers win at a tie situation. Because lots of pushes occurs in the game of Paigow poker, the casino does not make much out of this game. To make up, the casino charges 5% on winning bets. |
